Palmetto Chevrolet Co. Inc. is seeking a motivated, organized, self-starting individual to work in our accounting office as an Accounting Assistant.
Job Responsibilities include:
Assist Office Manager and General Manager with wide range of accounting and general office duties, including but not limited to:
- Accounting entries – general ledger entries, post transactions to bank account, create correction entries, vehicle sales invoices.
- Accounts receivable – monthly generate receivable statements, accept customer payments, assist customer with account reconciliation.
- Accounts Payable – assist with processing of payable invoices, assist with payment of accounts.
- Balance accounts / statements
- Prepare bank deposits
- Process funding of vehicle sales contracts
- Assist / Prepare month-end reposts and run processes / post entries
- Follow established cash management procedures
Greet customer and assist them with various needs
Cashier - accept payment from customers for service repair invoices and parts invoices. Accurately record transactions in cash register and close invoices in computer.
Telephone reception – telephone receptionist for dealership as needed.
Dealership DMS Functions - Cashier repair orders, accurately record / input customer information, accept payments on customer accounts, write checks as needed, reconcile and pay statements (accounts payable) for dealership.
Redeem customers Reward Points from GM Card for service and parts invoices.
Prepare daily cash deposits for service and parts sales.
Prepare bank deposits as needed.
Other duties as required
Candidates must have:
Ability to accurately handle cash transactions, balance cash register and make daily deposits. (2 – 3 years preferred)
Working knowledge of accounting entries (debits / credits) is essential to this position along with the ability to balance accounts / statements, find and correct errors.
Working knowledge of Windows based PC’s Internet based programs and Productivity (Excel, Word, Etc.). Candidates with dealership DMS (CDK Global) experience would be preferred
Strong customer service skills and an ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Discretion, secure handling of company / personnel information and adherence to company policy and legal requirements.
Valid SC Driver’s License with clean driving history.
Clean criminal background and be willing to submit to drug screening.
Candidates must be able to stand, walk, climb, lift (up to 40lbs) as required daily.
Job Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and 8:30 am to 5:30 pm Monday thru Friday.
