Position Description
Palmetto Corp is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shop Inventory Clerk to join our team. Our ideal candidate will ensure that the inventory levels in our Mechanic Shops are accurately maintained, orders are promptly placed, and overall inventory management is efficient and precise.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage inventory levels and incoming shipments in the shop to ensure accuracy and availability of parts and supplies.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain 100% inventory accuracy.
- Work closely with mechanics to forecast inventory needs based on demand
- Utilize inventory management software/systems to effectively track spare parts and supplies
- Prepare inventory reports and provide insights to management on inventory status and improvements.
- Implement best practices for inventory control, including organizing storage areas and optimizing supply layout.
- Perform additional tasks and assignments as necessary
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (Excel, etc.)
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understand, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions clearly and concisely.
- Have the ability to work well with others (AKA Team Player).
- Follow directives and meet deadlines.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
- Have moderate computer and mobile device skills
Position Requirements
Physical Condition:
- Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities such as: heavy lifting and climbing, work in confined spaces, work at heights, work around heavy construction equipment.
- Maintain effective audio/visual judgement and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties.
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally move parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
