Are you ready to take your career to the next level with an innovative, employee-owned company? At Palmetto Engineering & Consulting, we’re looking for a Project Resident to oversee and perform technical engineering work during mapping, staking, and/or construction of outside plant facilities.
What You’ll Do:
- With direction from the Project Manager, supervise project-specific on-site activities associated with mapping, staking, and/or construction inspection of outside plant facilities, emphasizing quality, effectiveness, and efficiency.
- Monitor technicians' work regularly for conformance with company standards and design.
- Manage and provide technical oversight to on-site staff.
- Provide orientation and training for new and existing employees.
- Review time reports of staff to ensure accuracy.
- Edit and update construction prints and prepare "as built" records to reflect field construction changes.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and the client, providing services tailored to the client's needs. Communicate with the client regularly to ensure the company is meeting expectations and delivery schedules/timelines.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager concerning work, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Negotiate with construction contract personnel and communicate with the Project Manager, clients, and/or employees about changes or issues.
- Investigate and resolve all customer complaints.
What You Bring to the Table:
- High School diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years solid OSP telecommunication experience consisting of project staking, inspecting and application of RUS construction practices and procedures.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with mapping, boundary, topographic, as-built surveys, construction staking, and ROW staking, using digital applications.
- Knowledge of Telecom construction practices and techniques related to utility work.
- Must be able to work independently, travel weekly to the job site as needed, possess a valid driver's license, and be able to pass a substance abuse screening test.

Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday – Friday, 8 hours/day (overtime may be required based on project needs).
