What are the responsibilities and job description for the IR Tech, Interventional Radiology, Full Time, Day Shift, On Call, position at Palmetto General Hospital?
Position Summary :
Must have knowledge of all interventional procedures, catheters, wires, stents, and equipment. Assists the interventional radiologist to perform procedures. Knowledge of physiological, psychosocial and therapeutic components specific to assisting the appropriate treatment, and prioritizing of patients.
Prepares for and monitors diagnostic and interventional procedures, electrophysiological studies, pacemaker insertions, intra-aortic balloon pumps, structural heart procedures and endovascular procedures. Sets up & breaks down equipment; performs hemodynamic calculations for patient reports. Able to work well in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining composure and courtesy to patients and families. Good communication and professional ethics are essential. Ability to handle stress and maintain professionalism. Medical decisions are directed from the Radiologist and Neurointerventionlist. Trained for and skilled to perform exams on patients of all ages. Schedule flexibility and on-call.
Position Qualifications :
- R.R.T. Approved Program (2 years) OR
- Cardiovascular-Interventional Certification OR
- Cardiovascular Credentialing International Certification
- Hospital Radiology / Interventional Radiology or Surgical experience preferred
- College A.S. Degree required

Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization
Must clear background and drug test required.
