JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Clerk position is responsible working with the maintenance department to maintain an MRO system, ensure efficient completion and documentation of PM’s as well as cost effective part ordering. This position will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a dynamic team in a clean and safe environment. Additionally, the candidate for this position will be motivated to grow with Palmetto Gourmet Foods building a career for the years to come. Flexibility with scheduled workdays and shift preferences is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and maintain effective inventory control program for the maintenance department.
• Purchase necessary MRO materials ensuring availability of parts and supplies for plant operation.
• Work with the quality department to manage compliance for critical spare parts inventory within the SOMAX program.
• Locate, source, expedite critical repair parts and recommend satisfactory substitutes for unavailable materials and services.
• Appropriately disposition obsolete items (sell, silent auction, trash, recycle)
• Process all receiving reports, returned goods, purchase orders in a timely fashion to prevent disruption to plant and accounting operations.
• Print out preventative maintenance task lists for the maintenance techs as needed and enter time worked and parts used when completed.
• Negotiation of materials and supplies with vendor based on pricing, quality and delivery.

• Prefer experience with SOMAX and or MRO programs
• Knowledge of ISO standards a plus
• Strong understanding of Maintenance Purchasing and Storeroom principles
• Strong negotiating, communication, organizational, analytical, problem‐solving, leadership and quantitative skills
• Experience in understanding MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) purchasing and storeroom operations and procedures with the ability to interface the two functions to maximize financial opportunities of both.
• Working knowledge of production equipment, preventative maintenance concepts and employee safety requirements.
• While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to sit for periods of time while utilizing a keyboard and a computer.
• Will be required to frequently climb ladders and stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Frequently required to lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds with an occasional need to lift or move up to 75 pounds.

Education and Technical Requirements:

• Prefer relevant technical area and or equivalent experience in purchasing and storeroom leadership in a manufacturing environment.
