Job Description
$7,500 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates! 7 p.m.-7 a.m., includes every other weekend
Medical Step-down Unit (MSU) - MSU is a 9-bed unit with one of the rooms being semi-private. Our patient population consists of stable patients that require some aspects of critical care, whether it is continued ventilator support, cardiac monitoring, aggressive pulmonary toileting, or just close observation. Ages cared for range from adolescent to the geriatric patient. The types of patients that you may encounter may have a diagnosis of pulmonary complications/attempting to wean from the ventilator, closed head injury, wound management, electrolyte imbalance, gastrointestinal bleed, or medical complications of substance abuse, just to name a few. The nursing process is incorporated into all aspects of care in MSU. The nurse to patient ratio is 1:3. A broad range of monitoring, diagnostic, therapeutic and educational modalities are utilized during this period of the patient's admission. Our nurses also assist the physicians with a broad range of procedures at the bedside.
Qualifications
BSN Required
BLS for Healthcare Providers required
Current South Carolina RN license required
2-4 years experience required
