What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Assistant position at Palmetto Propane?
Overview
Palmetto Propane Fuels & Ice owns and maintains numerous offices, retail showrooms, gas stations and bulk storage facilities. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with maintaining buildings and grounds at assigned location.
Responsibilities:
- Filling propane cylinders.
- Keeping track of amount of propane dispensed.
- Rebuilding of cylinders as needed.
- Routine janitorial duties.
- Assists with building and grounds maintenance.
- Assists with repair and installation activities.
- Responsible for panting tanks.
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be self-directed and display strong initiative to complete goals.
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
- At least 3-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Some mechanical knowledge and willingness to learn new skills.
- Previous experience with propane is beneficial, but not required.
Working conditions:
- You must be able to work in both the warehouse and outdoors.
- You must be willing to work in all climates (Including but not limited to Rain, Heat and Cold weather environments).
- Standard hours of operation are 8:00am-5:00pm but there will be times that will require an afterhours commitment, including some Saturdays.
