What are the responsibilities and job description for the Short Truck West Columbia position at Palmetto Propane?
Job Summary (Purpose):
Delivery Drivers are critical to our success as they are the face of our company in their daily interactions with customers. As a delivery driver on our team, you will drive propane delivery trucks and fill tanks with propane for local residential and industrial customers. Our drivers provide exceptional customer service to customers and are able to work in varying environmental conditions. Responsibilities:
- Deliver fuel in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain the delivery truck which includes reviewing the maintenance record, performing inspections and reporting all vehicle conditions requiring attention for continued safe operation.
- Provide superior customer service.
- Account for funds and inventory with a user-friendly handheld terminal.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment and equipment while adhering to OSHA, State and Federal safety regulations.
- Perform other duties/tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Clean driving record with a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with no restrictions
- Have a Hazmat and Tanker Endorsement
- Exceptional customer service skills
Working conditions:
- Must be able to work as needed indoors and outdoors at various times.
- Consistent communication with all departments, coworkers and management
- Must be able to utilize systems technology effectively and consistently.
