What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Coordinator position at Palmetto Publishing?
The Project Coordinator will be responsible for successfully managing the services for our self-publishing authors from their concept through publication while creating a personalized experience. This person will coordinate self-publishing projects by acting as a liaison between the author and our designers and editors to ensure the authors has an unmatched publishing experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with authors and relay author preferences to vendors to ensure required timelines and customer expectations are met.
- Assign the appropriate aspect of the book to the appropriate vendors (designers, editors, illustrators, etc.)
- Work with authors, designers, editors and colleagues to bring authors' books to life
- Grant final approval on all artwork, formatting and proofs
- Interact with authors via phone and email to assist with the publishing process
Competencies
- Excellent communication skills. Speaks/writes clearly and effectively
- Thinks on their feet and is able to adjust and act instinctively
- Excellent phone and email communication skills
- Able to and enjoys working with people who have different personality types, backgrounds, etc.
- At least 2 years of relevant customer facing experience in retail, customer service or any other customer-focused role
- Positive attitude and gets excited over creating a fantastic customer experience
Required Skills/Experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word
- Proficient in using CRM platforms
- No publishing experience needed
- Energetic and revels in achieving things most people would find extremely difficult or impossible
- Forward thinking and learns from setbacks rather than feeling defeated
