What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Palmetto State Armory?
JOB PURPOSE
The Materials Handler will transport materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with changeovers by clearing out the workstation of the product left after the job is complete.
- Weigh count materials that need returned to the warehouse and make necessary bin transfers.
- Distribute and store products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Sets up the incoming shift with materials needed.
- Review shipments for quality and quantity; review labels for accuracy and initials.
- Ensure workstations have appropriate materials needed for production orders
- Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and / or using hand trucks and skids).
- When issues arise with quantities of skids, notify the supervisor and adjust inventory accordingly.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Fill materials / resins in a timely manner.
