What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic Boat Yard Tech position at Palmetto Yacht Management?
At Palmetto Yacht Management, we move multi-million dollar yachts!
Our tech team is responsible for the maintenance of our impressive fleet as well as loading and unloading boats!
We use the latest in Fleet Management software systems (Fleetio) to provide transparency from the Drivers to the Technicians to Senior Management.
Our Fleet consists of:
2023-2025 Ram 5500's and Late model custom boat trailers.
Our trucks are always less than two years old to minimize major maintenance requirements.
WE ARE NOT OLD SCHOOL! We do not use paper! The use of iPads and other smart devices is imperative!
Our standard is PERFECTION! Anything less is unacceptable!
Starting rate is based on experience and skill level
MUST BE LIVING IN THE AREA or planning to move!
We prefer technicians currently living within commuting distance of Manning or have plans to move to the Manning/Sumter area.
The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of auto / trailer lube and wheel repair experience.

Demonstrated skill in most of the following areas:
- Fuel/Air/Oil filter change experience
- Bearing replacement experience
- Disc Brake experience
- Clean and organized
Physical Demands:
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- With assistance, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Experience:
- Boat Trailer Maintenance and Repair Skills: 1 year (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Fleetio Management Software System
- Trailer Electrical Systems Repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Trailer Brake System Repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Basic Power Tool: 1 year (Preferred)
- Ability to Operate a Smart Phone and Online Systems (Required)
