Job Description
Palmyra High School is seeking applicants for a Library / Media Specialist, grades 9-12, for the 2025-26 school year. Qualified candidates must hold, or be eligible for, Missouri certification for K-12 Librarian / Media Specialist. Extra duty assignments will be assigned with this position.
The High School Library / Media Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the library including, but not limited to :
- Assisting teachers in promoting reading.
- Providing reading experiences for students and supervising assigned classes.
- Participating in curriculum design and assessment projects on a regular basis.
- Making resources available to students and staff through a systematically developed and organized collection of library materials.
- Directing, organizing, and supervising the services essential to a library program centered on students' needs.
The qualified candidate needs to promote positive relations with all staff members and communicate the philosophy and mission of the library program to the students, faculty, administration, and parents.
