Job Summary
Part - Time, 20 hours per week.
The SLP will be responsible for providing a full range of therapy services for those individuals of all ages with language, communication and swallowing disorders including outpatient, inpatient and home settings. This individual provides speech therapy services to patients in accordance with the physician treatment plans and works collaboratively with professionals from other disciplines. SLPs evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders; and provide treatment and training as well as education to family/caregivers and other professionals. This includes documentation of the evaluation, daily treatment sessions, and periodic re-assessments for treatment program planning, implementation, and communication/coordination with medical providers as well as insurance payers. He/she may also be involved in the supervision of Rehab aides and students and provide ST consultations for outreach contract services facilities. This position will assure quality speech therapy care and regulatory guideline compliance leading to positive patient outcomes.
Education/Requirements/Knowledge/Skills:
- A minimum of one year is as a SLP in a hospital setting preferred but not required.
- Completion/graduated degree from a college or university whose program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA)
- Licensed with a Certificate of Clincal Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP), registered in the state of Iowa.
