Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Under supervision, to operate a school bus over designated routes to transport school children; and to perform related work as required.
Specific Duties Include :
- Operate a school bus daily over designated routes in accordance with time schedules
- Pick up and discharge school children safely according to transportation rules
- Escort children across street, stopping traffic when necessary
- Transport students and teachers on field trips to various locations, choosing the best route and making departure and arrival time as scheduled
- Service bus with gas and oil and check tires and battery
- Wash bus exterior and clean interior and assist in maintaining bus in safe operating condition
- Maintain good order among students on the bus
- Follow district policies regarding the disciplining of children and contact with parents and other citizens
- Keep record of mileage, fuel and oil, and prepares reports of driving hazards and incident
- Other duties as assigned.
