What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist position at Palo Pinto General Hospital?
Job Summary: Performs routine phlebotomies on inpatients, outpatients, and nursing home patients of all age groups. collects blood specimens and drug screens for forwarding to the reference laboratory. Performs bedside glucose (waived) testing. No arterial punctures of laboratory bench procedures shall be performed. Enters visits and test requisitions on all patient types. Files completed laboratory reports promptly. Helps maintain the laboratory areas and equipment in a safe and sanitary condition. Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
Required Minimum Experience: One year experience in medical setting preferred.
Required skills (if applicable): Ability to communicate effectively with patients.
Required license/certification: Certification desirable. Current driver's license and vehicle liability insurance required.
