What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Coordinator position at Palo Pinto General Hospital?
Job Summary:
Coordinates and acts as a facilitator for the quality and risk management program. Assists the Quality Director with planning and implementing continuous quality improvements. Responsible for being a resource for departments, committees, medical staff, and administration on issues of risk management, safety, clinical data collection, analysis, and outcomes management. Assists departments with preparing for regulatory body surveys and submitting data to regulatory agencies in a timely manner to ensure compliance with reporting guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
If a nursing applicant, graduate of an accredited school of professional or vocational nursing or other healthcare related degree. Two years risk management or quality experience or two years clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
Reports to the Director of Quality; no positions reporting to this position.
Required skills:
Broad knowledge of regulatory agency standards (Joint Commission, CMS); experience in performing problem-solving activities to identify effective corrective actions and process improvements. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures and statistical processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to interact with staff on all levels, including administration, medical staff, hospital staff, regulatory agencies, and as necessary, patients and family. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent knowledge of computers and data entry/processing.
