Job Summary: The RN has the principle responsibility for the total care, assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of each assigned patient. Plans, provides, and documents care and teaching rendered. Assures a plan of care is carried out in a safe environment through performance and supervision of subordinate personnel. Meets departmental nursing care standard through appropriate cost containment and utilization/quality mechanisms. Manages all supplies and equipment as instructed by the manufacturers.
Qualifications/Reporting:
Required minimum education: Graduate of a Professional Nursing School. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Required minimum experience: One-year experience as a professional RN in a medical setting preferred.
Required skills (if applicable): The ability to read and write English. Effective oral and written communication skills. The ability to comprehend and follow verbal or written instructions in English. Other languages a plus Demonstrated ability in basic nursing practice.
Required license/certification: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas. Required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), EKG Telemetry (within 6 months), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Preferred: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
