Your day as a Admissions Coordinator
As the Admissions Coordinator at Palolo Chinese Home, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and communicating all admissions processes for our residents, ensuring compliance with both the Home’s policies and relevant state and federal regulations. You will actively obtain insurance authorizations for services provided in our Skilled Nursing Facility and Assisted Living programs. Engaging directly with referral sources, you’ll make initial and follow-up calls to convert potential referrals into successful admissions. Additionally, you will coordinate the creation and dissemination of educational materials, such as brochures, to effectively market PCH's diverse services and programs.
Conducting tours and visits to prospective clients and referral sources will also be a key responsibility, allowing you to enhance their understanding of the compassionate care we provide, including nursing and rehabilitation services, in a customer-focused environment.

Proficiency in MS Office products, particularly Word and Excel, is required, along with the ability to demonstrate autonomy, organization, and assertiveness in daily tasks. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are essential for making site visits, while familiarity with medical terminology will be a valuable asset in facilitating effective communication within our healthcare environment.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Must have previous experience in medical setting and familiarity with long term care and social service procedures.
- Is able to handle residents based on whatever functional level they are currently at.
- Understand the healthcare billing process (Medicare/Medicaid).
- Possess leadership abilities, patience, tact and a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
- Must be proficient with MS office products, such as Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
- Must be licensed driver with an acceptable driving record to make visits to referral sources
- Have reliable transportation to make site visits
- Must be able to read and write English to facilitate proper communication with others.
