Job Summary
Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, environmental and organizational tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of the clinic. Able to think and act independently on assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will provide administrative and clinical support services, assisting healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations
Patient Support:
The Medical Assistant will greet patients, assist with check-in procedures, and collect relevant medical history and insurance information
Determine, collect and process patient payments and address collection and billing issues
Process authorizations and orders
Respond promptly to customer needs, provide excellent customer service, assist patients with follow-up appointments, and fulfill medical documentation requests
They will also schedule appointments, answer phone calls, and respond to patient inquiries
Clinical Assistance:
The Medical Assistant will assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures, such as taking vital signs, preparing exam rooms, and performing basic medical tests and procedures
Setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocol; cleaning and restocking exam/procedure rooms between patient visits to maintain infection control.
Documentation:
The Medical Assistant will maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHR) and paper files
They will ensure all documentation is complete and organized for easy access
Inventory Management:
The Medical Assistant will manage medical supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage
They will also coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs as needed
Quality Assurance:
The Medical Assistant will participate in quality assurance activities, assisting with audits, data collection, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
