DIRECTOR OF SALES
Paloma Resort Properties is seeking an inspiring leader, team builder, and motivator who will guide our Lake Geneva resorts sales team to drive revenue for golf, overnight lodging, and corporate and social functions. We are looking for a for a Director of Sales who can hit the ground running with a proactive approach toward procuring business and a strong presence at both Geneva National Resort & Club and The Ridge Hotel. This executive position reports directly to the COO and owner. Salary is commensurate with experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Create and implement effective direct sales and strategies and lead sales personnel towards achievement of corporate sales objectives and budget.
- Solicit new and existing group business in the local, regional, and national market to build sales leads with a focus on corporate, associations, and SMERF groups to fill non-peak/low-demand dates/seasons.
- Develop, establish, maintain & monitor overall sales and event procedures. Reporting to include market analysis, analysis of competition, preparation of annual Sales plan, and onboarding plan for any team members.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecast.
- Benchmark sales efforts: Group rooms, golf, catering, stay and play.
- Establish and execute structured prospecting program for all categories of sales.
- Participate in revenue strategy meetings and recommend strategies to improve sales.
- Oversee and evaluate market research and adjust sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
- Establish goals & working plans for group sales on a departmental level and with each staff member. Track & monitor progression of goals.
- Work closely with Golf, Rooms, Food and Beverage and other department executives to maintain group satisfaction.
- Evaluate sales staff on a daily, weekly & annual basis. Set goals with each staff member & together monitor the progression of those goals. Document annual evaluations and any disciplinary discussions in employee files.
- Assist in establishing pricing structure for property on an annual basis & ensure that pricing integrity is maintained.
- Tour prospective clients & coordinate tour process.
- Establish & maintain a positive working relationship with area hotels & vendors.
- Meet & exceed monthly sales goals.
- Monitor sales contracts & monitor collection of payments & deposits.
- Monitor sales calls to tournament & catering coordinators and catering & wedding coordinator for repeat customers and smaller groups.
- Attend industry-related tradeshows, community events and industry meetings and host FAM tours on-property for meeting planners.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 5 years of hotel sales experience or 3 years in a hotel sales leadership position. Director of Sales experience is ideal.
- Experience with corporate group sales and prior event planning experience is a must; wedding and golf sales is a plus.
- Four-year college degree or equivalent is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Excel and familiar with Delphi.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, embrace competition, excel at training and motivating others, and be genuinely enthusiastic about Destination GN.

Additionally, this leader will invest in his/her team and inspire and individually coach each direct report to see his/her worth and potential. Lastly, this executive will model professional sales techniques and work alongside the team to produce a specified dollar amount, mostly from larger corporate groups.
