Here is your opportunity to join the Lake Geneva area's premier restaurant and events team as a member of our professional front-of-house bartending staff at the multi-award-winning Hunt Club Steakhouse, Turf at the GN Clubhouse, Paloma Cantina alongside GN's putting course, Crafted Italia and the poolside Deck Bar at The Ridge Hotel. In addition to bartending at our unique venues, you may also be a Banquet Bartender at GN and The Ridge for weddings, corporate events, and other special occasions. No matter which venue you work, the expectation is that you convey with enthusiasm a deep knowledge of each venue’s inspired drink menus while executing genuine service with etiquette and excellence.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Know your assigned venue's drink menus inside and out – down to ingredients and origins.
Greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and create drink recipes.
Engage with guests and artfully recommend wines, custom crafted cocktails, trendy drink options and other beverages based on customer preferences.
Provide immediate attention to guests at the bar. Take and execute orders with artistry and showmanship.
Check Identification to ensure guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol.
Handle cash, credit and debit transactions; ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to guests. Balance the register.
Take pride in our property. Perform set-up, cleaning and closing tasks as part of the venue’s core team.
Value timely communication by keeping the Restaurant Manager apprised of special requests, special occasions or complaints and taking ownership to ensure that that all are addressed with care.
Uphold high sanitation and safety standards, maintain a clean work area.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Must be age 18, the legal drinking age in Wisconsin.
• Previous bartending/serving experience preferred, as well as knowledge of popular drinks, their recipes, and types of alcoholic beverages.
• Knowledge of how to use bar tools, measure ingredients accurately, and create visually appealing beverages.
• Attentive and personable demeanor, effective communication skills, and ability to sell/promote featured items.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods, managing multiple drink and food orders simultaneously.
• Ability to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays and willingness to work at various resort venues.
• Knowledge of laws related to serving minors, intoxicated individuals, and the responsible service of alcohol.
• May also require Town of Geneva Operator's License, which can be secured upon hire.
