POSITION SUMMARY
The main responsibilities include (1) assisting the Program Coordinator with the development and running of Outdoor Education camps, (2) developing and running the program elements of Horse Camp as directed by the Horsemanship Coordinator, (3) leading and supporting the Girls Horse Camp counselors and campers, (4) ensuring the safety of all campers, and (5) helping in other departments as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The employee must accept the lodging from PCCC as a condition of employment to carry out responsibilities of the fire evacuation plan. The employee would not be able perform this service without the lodging.
- Must take part in the fire evacuation plan for the area that they are assigned.
(1) Assisting the Program Coordinator with the development and running of Outdoor Education camps
a. Assists with developing program materials, theme nights, activities, and educational curriculum.
b. Assists with staff training as directed.
c. Leads the evening program as directed.
d. Teaches Outdoor Education classes, Bible lessons, and small group devotions.
c. Runs and participates in program activities and free time activities.
(2) Developing and running the program elements of Horse Camp as directed by the Horsemanship Coordinator
a. Develops the program materials, theme nights, activities, and camp events for Girls Horse Camp.
b. Runs program activities, teaches Bible lessons, and leads campfire times.
(3) Leading and supporting the Girls Horse Camp counselors and campers
a. Trains, leads, and supports PCCC counselors and WITs.
b. Addresses conflict with counselors, WITs, and campers and reports to the Horsemanship Coordinator to keep them informed.
c. Develops relationships and mentors counselors and campers, including WITs.
(4) Ensuring the safety of all campers
a. Creates a safe environment and camp experience that promotes physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual safety.
b. Assists with camper health and gives camper's medications as a Health Supervisor.
(5) Helping in other departments as directed
a. Assists with other departments as directed, including but not limited to, activities, cleaning, gift shop, etc.

Requirements
• Demonstrates a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, exercising personal faith through consistent daily living in accordance to God’s Word
• Understands the mission of Palomar Christian Conference Center and is in agreement with its Statement of Faith, and submits all other goals and desires to that main goal
• Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Possesses interpersonal skills such as are required to maintain positive relations with both staff and guests
• Possesses excellent customer service skills and presents a professional appearance and demeanor
• Possesses strong attention to detail and organization while managing multiple priorities
• Is proficient in basic Microsoft applications (Windows, Office, etc.)
• Ensures that he could lead/introduce campers to Jesus Christ as Savior.
• Must be able to hike with a backpack into the remote areas of the surrounding wilderness.
• Has at least a limited knowledge and experience in backpacking and camping in remote places
