About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for assessing patients' needs, identifying and initiating appropriate physical therapy interventions, and working cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the care of those patients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapy techs.
- Assess patients' needs; identifies and initiates appropriate physical therapy interventions.
- Observe and evaluate treatment effect, accomplishment of short and long term goals. Recommend change to physician, if needed.
- Perform an appropriate assessment on each patient and perform reassessments, as per policy. Perform accurate and timely QI scoring.
- Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level of function of participation in rehabilitation; makes appropriate interventions to reduce pain; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.
- Formulate and update patient specific plan of care for physical therapy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
- Inpatient rehab experience preferred.
- Current BLS/CPR Card.
