What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at PALS, Inc.?
PALS, Inc. is an adult Day Program that provides professional services to individuals with intellectual or behavioral disabilities. With offices in Santa Barbara, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties, we are committed to assisting individuals in achieving their goals and needs.
We are actively seeking candidates to assist PALS program participants in the areas where assistance is needed. This depends purely on the requirements of each individual. The ideal candidate should be patient, kind, and, whenever possible, allow participants to complete the tasks independently. Our services include daily activities, self-care, community transportation, interpersonal skills, communication, and work skills, but not limited to such. The candidate should be able to establish interactions with the participants and build confidence.
Experience and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum one year of experience
- Demonstrate strength of character
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that participants receive attentive care and assistance throughout the workday
- Utilize transportation, walk, or any other means to navigate activities in the community
- Complete daily individual information, including person-centered learning logs, progress charts, and SIR reports, and report it to the PALS program management team in a timely manner
- Participate in PALS monthly staff trainings, as well as other trainings that may be recurring or arranged online, upon request
Required:
- Reliable transportation
- Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance
- Must pass Background Check
- Must pass TB Clearance Test, Drug Test, and Physical Test
