Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced individual to join our team as an Independent Living Services Support Provider. This position requires medical experience, as the client requires significant physical assistance and experiences multiple seizures a day. In this role, you will provide essential training and support to an adult with disabilities, ensuring they receive the care and guidance needed in various areas of daily life, including cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, personal hygiene, self-advocacy, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support in cooking, cleaning, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.
- Assist the client with physical support needs due to mobility challenges and medical conditions.
- Provide seizure monitoring and first aid, as necessary, following established protocols.
- Support the client in career goals, post-high school education, and self-advocacy.
- Help manage the client’s physical, mental, and dental health needs, including assistance with medical appointments and medication.
- Offer guidance in managing personal finances, mobility, and utilizing community resources.
- Foster independence by promoting self-care and life skills development.
Required Qualifications:
- Medical experience, such as nursing, personal care assistance, or a relevant healthcare background.
- Ability to manage physical care and assist with medical needs, including seizure response.
- A passion for helping adults with disabilities and a patient, empathetic demeanor.
- Prior experience in caregiving or support roles is highly preferred.
- Ability to follow protocols and work with a multidisciplinary team.
