About this Opportunity
The School Instructor plays a critical role in training students to become safe drivers. This involves teaching them to operate vehicles safely on the driving range and public roads, as well as preparing them to pass the state CDL exam.
Work Schedule and Compensation
This position is Monday through Friday, day shift. Hourly pay ranges from $23 to $26, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom, equipment, range, and road instruction to students.
- Monitor student progress and provide additional support as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete records and reports as required by laws, policies, and school regulations.
- Enforce rules and procedures in the classroom and on the range, ensuring student behavior meets expectations.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant commercial truck driving laws and developments.
- Perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements for Success
- A minimum of 2 years verifiable OTR Class A experience within the last 3 years or 1 year of experience as a Class A CDL Instructor.
- Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment skills test.
- A valid Class A CDL License is mandatory.
- A clean MVR and background are required.
- The ability to perform duties related to over-the-road, basic skills, and classroom instruction as assigned.
- Obtaining and maintaining licensure according to applicable state regulations is necessary.
