This position works closely with nursing department, clinical staff and Intake department to ensure timely admission of patients. Under the direction of the Director of Assessments and Referrals, the Intake Nurse (RN) is responsible to screen patient admissions and communicate information to the physician to determine if patient meets level of care. This position works closely with nursing department, clinical staff and Intake department to ensure timely admission of patients. This position will contribute to department meetings, quality initiatives and maintain services within TJC requirements.
Qualifications
- Education and Training: RN required. Licensed in the state in which the hospital resides. BLS required. Crisis management certification per hospital policy and standards required.
- Experience: Candidate must have an understanding of behavioral healthcare and freestanding industry as well as experience in interviewing, assessments, patient-family centered care, and requirements for admission based on established hospital criteria. Candidates with 2-3 years of experience in admissions preferred.
