Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of meat cutting techniques. This role is essential in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meat products while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. The Meat Cutter will work closely with the culinary team to prepare and package various meat products for sale.
Duties
- Perform meat cutting and trimming tasks with precision, ensuring high-quality cuts that meet customer specifications.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and hygiene standards throughout all meat handling processes.
- Prepare and Store meat products for use, ensuring proper labeling and FIFO for cooks.
- Operate various kitchen equipment, including knives, saws, and grinders, while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of meat products and reporting any shortages or discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and assisting customers with their selections.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and improve existing processes related to meat preparation.
Experience
- Previous experience in meat cutting or food production is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper handling techniques is essential.
- Familiarity with culinary principles and kitchen operations is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and customers alike.
- Proficiency in using knives and other kitchen tools safely and efficiently.
