Our client is seeking a s r. System Administrator for a hybrid contract opportunity in New York City. The consultant will work 3 days a week in the company's lower Manhattan offices.
* Manage the legacy mainframe legacy systems and provide system maintenance and administration for current mainframe applications.
• Support the development of new features and transitioning into new systems.
• Support the extracting of data as text files from mainframe applications using:

• Support the extracting of data as text files from mainframe applications using:
- ADABAS- IPIS, Natural- IPIS, CICS- TAS, MAS, COBOL- TAS, MAS, VSAM and flat files\
- IBM utilities (IDCAMS, SORT, File Manager) -to see what is in the files.
- JCL- to run the programs, compile programs to extract MAS data.
- TSO- mainframe development environment- program in here.
• Conduct data transport from Mainframe to Windows server text files using UC4 file transfer
• Load data into CRM/Dynamics 365 from SQL servers.
• Troubleshoot any system feature issues, and processes to ensure ongoing system operation.
• Participate in system analysis, system design, and requirements sessions as needed.
• Demonstrate technical understanding of data and technical database design for system development and solutioning.
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience transitioning legacy systems into new technology
• Full software lifecycle experience from requirements through implementation and production support
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on with SQL server
• Demonstrate technical understanding of data and technical database design.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and other performance and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience in system and data mapping and conversion preferred.
• Any experience with COBOL, SAS, REXX, or .NET may be helpful.
• Experience using project SharePoint and/or MS OneDrive site for project artifacts
. • DevOps/JIRA experience is preferred
