What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Data Engineer position at PamTen?
Our client is seeking an Application Data Engineer for an initial 2 year contract with possibility of exetension. The client is located in Albany and the consultant will need to be onsite. This role will perform a range of technical and advisory functions aimed at supporting and improving higher education student-focused applications and systems.
- Data Integration and Pipeline Development : o Design and develop scalable data pipelines to process and analyze large datasets. o Implement data integration solutions using ETL tools and frameworks.o Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data flows to ensure reliability, quality, and integrity. o Develop and maintain documentation for data models and integration processes.
- Collaboration and Strategy : o Partner with application developers, data scientists, and business analysts to align data integration efforts with student information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), and other related platforms. o Engage with the Project Management Office (PMO) to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with project management tools and methodologies.
- Innovation and Compliance : o Stay current with emerging data technologies and best practices. o Ensure data security and adherence to relevant regulatory standards. o Design & Develop solutions that enhance the student experience and streamline administrative processes.
- Required Experience : o At least 10 years of experience in education, government, or corporate projects, with expertise in application development and data system design preferred. o Proven ability to provide strategic advice to senior management and improve business processes and systems for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
