Job Title: Elementary Science Teacher
We are looking for passionate Science Teacher to add to our 4th Grade Team! The Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and informative science instruction in selected K-8 grade students. This role involves creating and implementing lesson plans that align with state and national science standards, fostering a love for scientific inquiry, and supporting students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
What you will be doing
- Designing and implementing science lessons and units that are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with our curriclum and educational standards
- Teaching core scientific concepts including life science, physical science, earth science, and basic scientific principles through hands-on activities, experiments, and interactive lesson
- Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and curiosity
- Evaluate student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and observations; provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students, including those with special educational needs.
- Work with other teachers, school staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience and participate in school events and activities.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education and pedagogical techniques.
- Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities.
What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Science Education, or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification for elementary education and/or science.
- Prior teaching experience, particularly in elementary or middle school education, is preferred.
- Strong understanding of science concepts and curriculum.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to create an engaging learning environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for science and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 10-months, exempt
- This position is for in-person work at our location
- 179 instructional days, 194 work days (new staff members work additional days for induction/orientation)
- In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable
- To be eligible to work for Pan American Academy Charter School, you must complete and submit background clearances and paperwork prior to your start date. We are able to accept clearances if they are less than one year old from the date a new employee presents them to Human Resources.
