DESCRIPTION
The Director of Assessment, Curriculum, and Technology will serve under the immediate direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services, and will assume delegated responsibility to plan, organize, and direct assessment activities; manage the implementation of curricular and instructional services; and coordinate the implementation of the technology plan for the District.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides leadership and vision in the ongoing planning, implementation, professional development, direction, review and evaluation of the district’s assessment, curriculum and instructional technology services.
- Plans, directs and supervises a comprehensive system of testing and assessment related to federal, state and local mandates focusing on high standards of student achievement.
- Designs and manages the District’s student data system to measure student performance over time, identify trends, and provide real-time, online access to multiple measures of student performance to inform educational decision-making.
- Directs research and conducts school and community surveys to assess program effectiveness and identify the District’s short and long-range needs and opportunities.
- Collects, analyzes and maintains statistical information and prepares reports of findings, trends and inferences.
- Prepares and submits all necessary reports regarding federal, state and local assessment programs and effectively communicates results, analysis, and recommendations to staff, Board of Trustees and the public. Develops systems for the dissemination of assessment information to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitors and interprets federal and state legislation relating to District instructional, assessment and accountability programs to support the implementation of California content standards, effective instruction, and assessment of student achievement.
- Works collaboratively with District and school leadership to analyze student achievement data, effectiveness of the instructional program and initiatives, and efficacy of professional learning to ensure the coordination, alignment and articulation of a comprehensive curricular and instructional program.
- Provides supervision for staff and leadership for the operation of a variety of Instructional Services programs including, but not limited to, Gifted and Talented Education, AVID, academic multi-tiered systems of support, early literacy, student events, and the adoption of instructional materials.
- Provides leadership and innovation for enhancing teaching and learning through the identification, evaluation, adoption, and integration of effective instructional technology into the curriculum.
- Directs the development and implementation of the District’s Local Control Accountability Plan and technology plan.
- Manages assigned budgets and related financial activity for the purpose of ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.
- Performs other related duties, as assigned.
Salary : $142,963 - $173,313
