The External Communications/PR Intern will be primarily responsible for supporting external communications activities and various strategic PR objectives. This position will work closely with the PR team to support the development and implementation of engaging and compelling content for various external communications channels, including social media, press releases and other deliverables related to company strategic goals and issues. This position is hybrid, based in Newark, NJ and remote.

Responsibilities
What You'll Do:
The External Communications/PR Intern will be primarily responsible for supporting external communications activities and various strategic PR objectives. This position will work closely with the PR team to support the development and implementation of engaging and compelling content for various external communications channels, including social media, press releases and other deliverables related to company strategic goals and issues. This position is hybrid, based in Newark, NJ and remote.
- Contribute to the development of engaging and compelling content for multiple platforms, including external web properties, social media and press releases.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely publication of news announcements and press releases
- Assist in the planning and execution of events/campaigns, including preparing materials and coordinating logistics
- Support with curating media lists and Daily Digest newsletters, tracking speaking engagements and appearances for executive visibility, and in the creation of coverage reports/metrics tied to key events and project announcements
- Work with communications team and internal stakeholders to help produce materials on product launches and milestones that support company goals and key initiatives, proactive and reactive content
- Attend meetings with external PR partners, vendors and trainings/webinars
- Perform other duties as assigned
- The program will be a full-time paid summer internship
- The program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 19th and Friday, August 8th
- Must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree throughout the entirety of the internship
- Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship
What You'll Bring:
- Must be a current student working towards a degree in Communications, Marketing or related field
- Excellent writing and verbal skills, with an ability to tailor messages for different audiences
- Creativity and strong attention to detail
- Experience creating engaging external content, and a keen interest in staying updated on the latest industry trends/media landscape
- Demonstrated understanding of media relations
- Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point
- Able to meet deadlines, while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Must be comfortable with interfacing with senior stakeholders
