Responsibilities

The Position:

We are seeking an Automation Engineering Lead with a strong background in Kubernetes and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and execution of automated testing strategies to ensure the quality and reliability of our cloud-native platform and services. You will work closely with developers, DevOps, and product teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of scalable test automation frameworks for microservices running on Kubernetes.
  • Define and implement comprehensive test strategies for platform components, including APIs, services, and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., ArgoCD, GitOps).
  • Design and execute functional, integration, performance, and end-to-end tests in a distributed environment.
  • Drive quality metrics and provide leadership on test best practices, automation standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and guide a small team of engineers or SDETs.
  • Identify quality risks and proactively work to mitigate them in the early stages of development.

The salary or hourly wage range of $133,000 - $223,000 is just one component of Panasonic's total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual's knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

What We're Looking For:
  • Required Qualifications
    • 6 years of experience in software and DEVOPS, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
    • Strong proficiency in building test automation for cloud-native applications and services.
    • Experience with test automation tools like Selenium, Cypress, K6, Locust, Postman, gRPCurl, Pytest, Robot Framework or similar
    • Expertise in API testing for REST, gRPC, and MQTT protocols.
    • Familiarity with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) concepts and microservices architectures.
    • Expertise in at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Go, JavaScript).
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows (e.g., using ArgoCD, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
    • Knowledge of service observability and test strategies using logs, metrics, and traces.
    • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year 7 sick days 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.

  • 401K with 50% match on up to 8% contribution, full vested from day 1.
