Responsibilities

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Strategic technical advisory leader, guiding and coaching the engineering team, while contributing to and responsible for the architectural vision of our systems. Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software solutions for our in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems. Possess expertise in C/C , Java, applications, services, cloud native architecture, microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), CI/CD practices & tools, PaaS,  as well as extensive experience in hybrid cloud computing, content management, and low-latency systems design.

  • Architectural Design:Lead the design and implementation airside applications and services, including microservices, containerization, and infrastructure. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
  • Technology Leadership:Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and industry trends. Advocate for and implement best practices in application, services, hybrid and cloud-native development, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC).
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with product managers, SW developers, and HW teams to understand requirements and translate them into robust solutions. Facilitate the alignment of technical goals with business objectives.
  • Mentorship and Guidance:Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams. Conduct code reviews, share knowledge on latest cloud technologies, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Performance Optimization:Analyze and optimize airside applications and services for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively address potential issues.
  • Security and Compliance:Ensure that solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements. Implement and oversee policies for data protection, access control, and vulnerability management.
  • Strategic Planning:Contribute to the development of long-term technology strategy and roadmap. Provide input on technology stack decisions and help define long-term goals for airside infrastructure and services.

 


Qualifications

Knowledge/Skills:

· Proven ability to design and architect complex systems, balancing performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.

· Strong background in low-latency systems design and development, with a focus on performance optimization.

· Expertise in C , Java, and Go programming languages.

· Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

· Proficiency in content management systems and optimization techniques.

· Solid understanding of software version management tools such as Git or SVN.

· Experience with Edge systems and resource-constrained environments.

· Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

· Proven track record of mentoring and coaching engineers to help them excel in their roles.

· Ability to design and architect complex systems, balancing performance, scalability, and reliability considerations.

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

·  15 years of experience in software development, with expertise in C , Java, and Go programming languages.
