Position Responsibilities:
- Performs general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids the physician/nurse practitioner during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
- Draw blood samples and obtain urine specimens
- Observes, records, and reports patients condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians/nurse practitioners.
- Maintains timely flow of patients.
- Greets patients and prepares them for physician/nurse practitioner examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
- Arranges for patients testing and information.
- Formulates and updates patient care plans. Orders, prepares, and inspects patients’ charts. Posts tests and examination results.
- Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including re-stocking of treatment areas.
- Participates in CLIA and OSHA compliance and monitoring.
- Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
- Monitors emergency kit and equipment as required.
- Monitors and maintains supplies and medications as appropriate.
- Completes referrals and other paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintains tracking of UDS required information.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Licensure as a practical nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with FAC 210-8.22 or 8.27.
- Work requires a minimum of 1 year experience in responsible clinical/medical operations

Clinical Expertise: Proficient in performing routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, wound care, and assisting with physical examinations.
Patient Care: Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals across a variety of ages and backgrounds, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
Medication Administration: Skilled in administering medications as prescribed, monitoring for potential side effects, and ensuring accurate documentation.
Health Assessment: Capable of conducting initial health assessments, identifying symptoms, and communicating effectively with healthcare teams to develop appropriate care plans.
Record Keeping and Documentation: Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate patient records, documenting care provided, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Ability to work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to provide coordinated care and follow treatment plans.
Patient Education: Excellent communication skills to educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and preventative measures.
Clinical Technology Proficiency: Familiar with clinic management systems, electronic health records (EHR), and medical equipment used in a clinical setting.
Crisis Management and Problem Solving: Quick-thinking and adaptable, able to handle emergencies or unexpected situations with a calm, clear approach.
Confidentiality and Compliance: Deep understanding of patient privacy laws (HIPAA) and maintaining strict confidentiality in all patient interactions.
Compassionate Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with patients, family members, and colleagues in a supportive and professional manner.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that patient care needs are met promptly.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; stoop, bend, kneel, and crouch may be required in clinical areas. The employee frequently is required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds which includes the lifting, pushing and/or pulling of supplies and equipment. Ability to work in a stressful, public contact environment; maintenance of confidentiality in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
