As a Mobile Dental Hygienist , you'll play a key role in this mission by traveling on a mobile unit to visit schools, providing exceptional care to children from one school to the next. Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides dental prophylaxis, scaling and root planning, and periodontal probing as needed
- Instructs patients in preventative dental techniques (oral hygiene instructions)
- May apply topical anesthesia as recommended / required preparation for dental procedures to be performed by the dentist
- Completes and maintains records of patients
- Exposes radiographs at appropriate intervals
- Orders and stocks dental supplies as needed
- Assists with planning, developing and conducting dental health education or preventative programs
- Participates in research projects and needs assessment surveys
- Other Duties Assigned.
All providers are responsible for participation in any ongoing quality improvement activities in the clinical area.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may be required to work in tight spaces and different temperatures. The employee is frequently required to sit and may need to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to maintain a professional and calm demeanor while working with children.
