PanCare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacy Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our Malone pharmacy. The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for managing a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining high-quality patient care, and ensuring compliance with all regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of pharmacy practices, and a commitment to delivering excellent healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead, mentor, and manage pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support personnel.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and training to ensure professional development.
• Schedule and assign work to pharmacy staff to ensure optimal coverage and efficiency.
• Oversee the dispensing of prescription medications, ensuring accuracy, safety, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
• Review medication orders for appropriateness, dosage, interactions, and potential side effects.
• Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring that medications are stocked, stored, and distributed properly.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to review medication therapy and recommend alternatives when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy laws and regulations, including the Controlled Substances Act, HIPAA, and others.
• Maintain appropriate records for controlled substances, prescriptions, and other medications as required by law.
• Keep up to date with changes in pharmacy legislation and adjust operations and policies accordingly.
• Provide counseling to patients on the proper use of medications, including dosages, side effects, and storage.
• Monitor patient medication adherence and assist in identifying any barriers to compliance.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement medication management plans, ensuring the best therapeutic outcomes for patients.
• Ensure the accuracy of billing and reimbursement for prescriptions and services.
• Implement and monitor pharmacy safety programs and quality assurance processes. Identify opportunities for operational improvements and implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce errors.

• In-depth knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication therapy management.

Education and Experience: 

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) from an accredited institution

Licensure: Active and valid pharmacist license in Florida

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing pharmacist, with a least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role preferred.  Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, industry standards, and best practices. 

Physical Requirements:

The employee may occasionally be required to reach with hands and arms and move objects up to 20 pounds.
