We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Associate to join our team. In this role, you will provide support to pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing inventory, assisting customers, and ensuring smooth daily operations within the pharmacy. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with inquiries about medications, prescriptions, and over-the-counter products.
- Provide professional and friendly service, ensuring that patients' needs are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications in accordance with prescriptions and established procedures.
- Verify prescription details (e.g., dosage, patient information) and ensure accurate labeling of medications.
- Manage medication refills and ensure that proper documentation is maintained.
- Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering and restocking medications and pharmaceutical supplies.
- Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the pharmacy, ensuring that medications are stored properly.
- Update and maintain patient records and prescription databases.
- Process insurance claims and handle any necessary billing-related tasks.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with all pharmacy regulations, including proper record-keeping and inventory tracking.
- Ensure that pharmacy equipment and tools are properly maintained and functioning.
- Participate in the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy, assisting with various tasks as directed by the pharmacist.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education or certification in pharmacy-related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or retail environment is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of pharmacy terminology and medications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software and systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and assist in inventory management.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require weekend, evening, and holiday availability.
- Pharmacy associates will work in a collaborative team environment with regular interaction with customers and pharmacy staff.
