Band/Choir Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
●Current teaching license or enrolled in an alternative licensure program in Vocal/Instrumental Music (PK-12 preferred).
●Successful completion of state-required Child Maltreatment and background examinations
ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (other duties may be assigned)
●To collaborate with co-teachers
●Create high standards for students while recognizing the abilities and disabilities of each student as well as considering the age of each student.
●Create a caring and safe atmosphere
●Willing to accept constructive criticism from administration and co-teachers
●Attend mandatory teacher meetings and parent/teacher conferences
●Establish a positive relationship with parents
●Activities outside of regular classroom instruction:
oExtra-curricular practice with students trying out for All Region
oTake all students interested to All-Region Try-outs on a Saturday
oTake qualified students to All-Region Practice and Clinic
oA minimum of two (2) evening concerts per year with elementary students and two (2) per year with high school students
oBand- At least one of the Pangburn parades (4th of July or Christmas) and the Homecoming Parade.
oBand-Perform at a minimum of five (5) home ballgames per year and the Red/White games each year.
●Direct supervision of students
