Job Opening : Full-Time Batch Maker at Pangea Reptile

Location : Zeeland, MI

Pay : $18 per hour

Schedule : 1st Shift, M-Th, 8 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM (4 10 hr shifts)

Pangea Reptile, one of the largest breeders of captive-bred geckos and the producer of the #1 crested gecko food in the country, is expanding its Food Production Department and has an immediate opening for a Full-Time Batch Maker . We are a fast-growing company, and were looking for someone who is detail-oriented, takes pride in their work, and is ready to join our team long-term.

Job Summary : As a Batch Maker, you will play a key role in producing our Pangea Complete Crested Gecko Diet. This involves preparing and mixing raw materials according to recipes, operating equipment, ensuring the quality of the batches, and maintaining a clean and sterile workspace.

Key Responsibilities :

• Learn and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for batch preparation.
• Read and interpret recipes and ensure the correct ingredients and formulas are used.
• Operate and maintain mixing and processing equipment.
• Monitor batch quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of production data.
• Clean and sanitize utensils, surfaces, and equipment.
• Work closely with Quality Control and Production teams.
• Train new Batch Makers as necessary.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be reliable and have superior attendance.
• Ability to perform simple math and read / write effectively.

Physical Demands :

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle objects or controls.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs occasionally.
• Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and equipment.
• Must be able to work in extreme temperatures and endure distracting / uncomfortable sounds.

Work Environment :

• High stress situations may arise; the ability to remain calm and effective is crucial.
• May require overtime, including weekends

Additional Requirements :

• Some weekends required.
• Must be able to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations.
