We are working with a Birmingham-based service company to find a skilled Financial Analyst. This organization values professionals with a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, sharp analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with team members at all levels. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the CFO, focusing on pricing analysis, business analytics, forecasting, budgeting, and operational metrics reporting, as well as providing ad hoc financial, business, and strategic analyses. Additional responsibilities include supporting general ledger management and month-end close.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the pricing model by providing analysis on pricing requests from the sales team
- Analyze existing contract performance monthly to maintain and grow profit margins
- Analyze Key Performance Indicators on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to spot trends and take timely corrective action
- Work closely with Operations Managers to explain the impact of variances and trends and develop solutions as needed
- Provide financial analysis on company and division financial reporting package monthly
- Participate in M&A activity including initial due diligence of potential acquisitions
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and provide monthly variance analysis
- Analyze certain general ledger accounts and participate in the month-end close process
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and other operational reports monthly
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or administration
- A minimum of 2-3 years of accounting or analytical experience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Resorceful and possess strong analytical skills
- Strong Excel skills and data extraction experience
