The Surgical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the schedule, insurance verification, obtaining authorizations, calculating patient financial estimates and collecting payments day of surgery. They will identify and handle customer needs, while providing exceptional customer service in a timely and efficient manner. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining Medical Records Requests, screening and updating established patient information for accuracy. They will work closely with clinical department staff to schedule procedures in an efficient manner based on departmental scheduling protocols. Other tasks will include answering phones and faxes, distributing mail and tracking invoices for billing purposes. High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years in healthcare setting performing insurance verification, scheduling, registration, and billing functions. Schedules patients for outpatient procedures, with accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage aspects of surgical scheduling including but not limited to: patient scheduling; communication with surgeons; medical records; insurance verification
- Manage aspects of general office operations
- Assist in the preparation of daily office operations including: mail, filing, inventory, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management

- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
