Job Summary
The Parts Receiving Clerk plays a crucial role in inventory management and logistics. The Parts Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming parts and materials. This role ensures that all parts are accurately counted, inspected for quality, and properly stored in the warehouse. The Parts Receiving Clerk collaborates with the maintenance team to ensure inventory accuracy and timely availability of parts for production.
Essential Functions
- Receive incoming shipments of parts and materials.
- Unload trucks and containers using appropriate equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Inspect received items for damage, discrepancies, and completeness.
- Verify received quantities against packing lists, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Accurately record and update inventory records system.
- Label and organize parts in designated storage areas.
- Conduct periodic inventory counts and assist with cycle counts.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or damaged goods to the Procurement Manager.
- Maintain accurate records of received parts and materials.
- Complete receiving reports and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with the Procurement department regarding discrepancies and returns.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines for handling and storing parts.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Perform any other relevant duties and responsibilities defined in company policies and procedures, applicable legislation, or the SQF code.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Comply with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
- Completes all company food safety policies and procedures (including Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Responsible for providing food safety and quality feedback to the appropriate manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving or inventory control role preferred.
- Willing to learn to drive a forklift.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
- Punctual and regular attendance is required.
- English skills must be proficient to understand, read, write, and speak.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activity to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Physical Requirements:
- Physical effort is regularly required.
- May be trained and required to operate a forklift.
- Ascending or descending ramps, stairs, ladders and/or scaffolding.
- Frequently involves crouching, stooping, kneeling and/or climbing or balancing.
- Frequently involves lifting more than 50 lbs.
Typical Environmental Conditions:
- Works in a food processing manufacturing facility with moderate noise.
- May be exposed to moderate to high noise levels (i.e., production equipment, forklifts, heavy traffic).
- May be exposed to humidity, intense heat and cold, outdoor weather conditions, and fumes and toxic chemicals.
- May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
- May be exposed to ingredients that may cause allergic reactions and may be exposed to various allergen ingredients.
