What are the responsibilities and job description for the Concrete Finisher/Laborer position at Paniagua's Enterprises Inc?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties in conformance to company and safety policies/regulations and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Complete Pre-Trip and Post-Trip vehicle and equipment inspections - Check vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. Maintain daily log, and refer defects or repairs to the Shop Supervisor.
- Notify supervisor immediately of currently needed or anticipated repairs.
- Perform regular maintenance/cleaning on assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with all DOT traffic laws and weight limits.
- Plan route to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment.
- Verify the types of materials being hauled as well as their weight.
- Haul construction materials to/from jobsites.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Maintain situational awareness and communicate any hazard that may arise.
- Perform other skilled/un-skilled construction duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors which include: lifting, shoveling, climbing and safe operation of assigned equipment.
- Work outdoors in all types of weather, for example – cold, heat, direct sun, rain, snow, wind.
- Maintain all Company property in excellent condition.
- Excellent work ethic required.
- Good Attendance record required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education Requirements: High School Graduate or Equivalent with Technical School Training preferred.
- Must possess a valid US CDL Class A or Class B, with a clean/insurable 7-year MVA Driving Record.
- CDL Class B Driving: 3 years (Preferred, but not required)
- CDL Class A Driving: 2 years (Preferred, but not required)
- Dump Truck operation: 2 years (Preferred, but not required)
- Must pass Pre-Employment, Random, Post-Accident, and Reasonable Suspicion Drug Screens.
- Must meet satisfactory results of Pre-Employment Background Check.
- Must pass Pre-Employment Medical fit-for-duty test, and hold/obtain DOT Medical Card.
- Must maintain all certifications required by DOT and OSHA and Company Safety Programs.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations pertaining to commercial vehicles.
- Construction experience is highly preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, preferred bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Ability to represent the company and work professionally at all times and adapt easily to changes in job requirements, hours of work, deadlines for completion of work, etc.
- Physical requirements: ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs., ability to climb 12 foot ladders, and a willingness and ability to work outdoors in all climates for 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible work schedules, including afterhours, weekends, and holidays as required to support business and customer needs.
- Must possess valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify.
