What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Utility Skilled Laborer position at Paniagua's Enterprises Inc?
Summary: Responsible for completion of semi-skilled construction tasks required to successfully complete assigned construction projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform semi-skilled construction tasks in major/minor construction and repair job assignments.
- Operate construction equipment and tools related to job, including but limited to jackhammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, saws and electric/pneumatic drills.
- Follow all company and safety policies/regulations at the work site, to include OSHA and MOSH regulations.
- Take direction from Supervisor and/or Crew Leader for assigned tasks and completion deadlines.
- Assist Construction Managers Crew Leaders.
- Read blueprints and designs.
- Install and monitor traffic control devices.
- Prepare and maintain clean work zones.
- Dig trenches.
- Work underground in tunnels and sewer systems.
- Install electrical conduit, sewer, water, and storm drainpipes.
- Pour concrete and asphalt onto roads.
- Remove hazardous materials.
- Survey and maintain equipment.
Qualifications:
- Education Requirements: High School Graduate or Equivalent with Technical School Training preferred.
Related Experience:
- Minimum 3 years operation of construction equipment.
Certification Requirements:
- OSHA Training (required)
- D.O.T. Driver Certified (preferred)
- Flagging Certified (preferred)
- Heavy Equipment Operator Certified (preferred)
- Valid Driver's License with no major infractions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, preferred bilingual (English/Spanish).
- Ability to represent the company and work professionally at all times and adapt easily to changes in job requirements, hours of work, deadlines for completion of work, etc.
Qualifications (continued):
- Physical requirements: ability to lift at least 50 lbs., ability to climb 12 foot ladders, and a willingness and ability to work outdoors in all seasons.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible work schedules, including afterhours, weekends, and holidays as required to support business and customer needs.
- Willingness and ability to respond to emergency work requests 24/7.
