Who You Are :
You are customer-focused with excellent organizational skills and the ability to lead, influence, and collaborate across various teams and external organizations. You excel in relationship building, with strong communication skills (oral, written, and listening) and a natural ability to build credibility. You are a skilled project manager with multitasking abilities and can easily manage competing priorities.
You possess at least 10 years of experience working with or in the federal government, including Congressional offices or federal agencies. While knowledge of industry standards is preferred, it is not required.
What Youll Do :
As the Director, Government Policy and Regulations , you will be responsible for supporting the Government and Regulatory Strategic Plan objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSM) and serve as the business lead for this effort. You will work closely with internal teams, members, and external partners to execute strategies that increase the adoption of industry standards. You will identify trends, gaps, and opportunities within government projects and develop strategies to leverage standards in addressing these areas.
In addition, you will :
- Lead outreach and education efforts to government agencies, advocating for the adoption of industry standards.
- Manage a cross-functional team, engaging in discussions, reviewing government activities, and identifying where collaboration or action is required.
- Support the interests of our client by working with government stakeholders, including agencies, technology companies, trade associations, and members.
- Assist in identifying and executing strategies to increase collaboration between the government and the private sector.
- Understand government agency objectives to identify where initiatives align with current projects or where new strategies can be developed.
- Leverage public policy knowledge to identify future opportunities for standards adoption.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with agencies and industry partners.
- Initiate dialogue with government agencies and strategic partners to identify viable strategies.
This position offers remote work with monthly travel to headquarters in Ewing, NJ. The preferred location is the Washington, DC area.
