The Position:
As a Perioperative Services Assistant at Panorama Eyecare, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver the best eyecare. Major Responsibilities:
- Stocks supplies and inventory management in the Perioperative Area.
- Cleans patient care areas and medical equipment.
- Assists in preparation of patient for surgery and laser procedures under the direction of the RN/Physician: supervised tasks with demonstrated competency may include but are not limited to vital signs, pre-operative paperwork, EKG’s, blood glucose monitoring, patient comfort and safety as determined by their scope of practice and training.
- Assists in Phase II recovery with vital signs, refreshments, and discontinuing IV under supervision.
- Assists with pre-Op and post-op calls as directed.
- Processes and fills patient surgery charts out, completes chart audits.
- EMR documentation including logs, pre-op surgical visit, phone calls, surgery scheduling, allergies and documenting medications.
- Transports patients for pre-op and post-op.
- Communicates with other health care team members to ensure continuity of care in the ASC and in other departments.
- Prepares for emergency situations by knowing correct policy and procedure locations of emergency equipment.
- IV Certified staff may start a peripheral IV (Saline lock) under the scope of their practice and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Who You Are
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certified (within 3 months of employment).
- CNA, CEMT or CMA required. Must have current appropriate licensure in the State of Colorado, if applicable.
- Previous nursing assistant or medical experience required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop and twist without restriction, pain or discomfort.
- Ability to assist patients in turning, rising from recliners and stretchers.
- Ability to assist patients in and out of wheelchairs, push wheelchairs.
- Ability to assist with moving patients on and off the operating room stretcher.
Additional Job Details
- Works at our clinic location, Eye Center of Northern Colorado - Precision (3151 Precision Dr, Fort Collins, CO).
- This is a Full-Time Position.
- Compensation for this role will be $20 - $22 an hour based on experience/certification.
