The Position:
As a Pre-Surgical Testing Technician at Panorama Eyecare, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver the best eyecare. The Role
Our Technicians are medical professionals that are responsible for the management and well-being of the ophthalmic surgical patient. The technicians will assist in all aspects and functions of the assigned patient care area, efficiently and accurately perform ophthalmic testing, provide comprehensive pre-operative education, and give pre-admission and pre-operative instruction. The focus of this position is to ensure that the ophthalmic patient, physician, and surgical team experience a positive outcome that exemplifies fulfillment of the mission statement at Panorama Eyecare.
- Works with all members of the health care team to provide optimal care to the patient throughout their preoperative surgical experience.
- Maintains a friendly, positive, and caring attitude with all patients, other guests, physicians and staff.
- Displays professionalism at work and in the community as a representative of the Eye Center.
- Takes initiative in helping team members to provide the best care for the patient.
- Documents all charts in electronic medical records.
- Cleans patient care areas and medical equipment.
- Takes Preoperative measurements including: auto refraction, Optical Biometry, Immersion A scans, Keratometry, Topography, Argos, Pentacam
- Completion of surgical charts with all necessary calculations included.
- Answers phones and takes messages accordingly.
- Complete and thorough EMR documentation.
- Answers patient calls and questions regarding preoperative process and recovery.
- Answers questions regarding Intraocular lens implants, various surgical procedures and medications used during recovery.
- Communicates with other health care team members in all departments to assure continuity of care.
- Prepares for emergency situations by knowing correct procedures and locations of emergency equipment.
Requirements
Who You Are
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to get BLS (Basic Life Support) certified within 3 months of employment.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced medical office and in electronic health record is preferred.
- This role would be great for a Medical Assistant, CNA, MA, etc. (Preferred, but Not Required)
- 2 years' experience preferred.
- COA preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to raise hands and arms to shoulder level without restriction, pain, or discomfort.
- Ability to perform extended use of phones and computer terminals, as well as diagnostic equipment without pain or discomfort.

- Works at our clinic location, Eye Center of Northern Colorado - Precision (3151 Precision Dr, Fort Collins, CO)
- This is a Full-Time Position.
- Compensation for this role will be $20 - $22 an hour based on experience/certification.
