Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to calls for service, including emergencies and non-emergencies.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, gathering evidence and taking statements from witnesses.
- Prepare detailed reports documenting incidents, arrests, and other relevant information.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations, conducting traffic stops as necessary.
- Provide first aid and CPR when required in emergency situations.
- Collaborate with community members to promote public safety initiatives and crime prevention strategies.
- Handle animals in distress or involved in incidents as needed.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current TCOLE certificate as a Texas Peace Officer.
- Employee must be willing to work shifts that are currently available.
- Employee should have a community first work ethic and practice Community Policing.
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely under various conditions; valid driver’s license/insurance required.
- Knowledge of criminal investigation techniques and loss prevention strategies is beneficial.
- Ability to handle animals safely and effectively when necessary.
- Must possess a high level of integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity within the community.
Candidates must be prepared to undergo background checks as part of the hiring process as well as take a physical and psychological test prior to start date.
Candidates will also meet with and be interviewed by the Chief of Police

Pay: $53,550.00 - $64,000.00 per year
